Located at the scenic waterfront of Long Beach, Ballast Point Brewing perfectly blends the art of craft brewing with a vibrant brewpub dining experience. This destination is much more than a brewery—it's a celebration of exceptional beer complemented by a thoughtfully curated menu that invites you to linger and savor.
The cuisine here can best be described as elevated pub fare with a creative twist, tailored to enhance the bold, refreshing beers Ballast Point is renowned for. Whether you’re craving their famed Steak Nachos or the crunchy, golden Fish & Chips, each dish is crafted to deliver a satisfying balance of flavors and textures. Highlights like the Louisiana Fried Chicken Sandwich pack a crispy, juicy punch, while their Beer Steam Mussels offer a delicate, aromatic seafood option that pairs beautifully with a cold pour.
For pizza lovers, the Roman-style daily specials showcase artisanal ingredients—imagine biting into a Spicy Sausage and Rosemary Potato pizza where smoked mozzarella melts perfectly over beer-braised pulled pork, pineapple, and pickled red onion atop a flavorful crust. It’s this kind of inspired combination that elevates their casual menu into something truly memorable.
Ballast Point Brewing shines particularly during its weekday specials. Burger Mondays feature a sumptuous 100% American Wagyu beef burger, complete with cheddar, house-made pickles, and their signature BP sauce, all served with a generous pint of any main production beer on tap—a deal that’s as delicious as it is affordable. Come Steak Wednesday, the juicy 7oz marinated New York Strip with pecorino cheese steak fries is a comforting, hearty offering that engages your palate and pairs perfectly with meticulously crafted brews.
Brunch is another highlight, with offerings like the Mascarpone and Berries artisanal brioche toast, where honey-whipped mascarpone and fresh seasonal berries meld with za’atar seasoning to create a tantalizing sweet and savory experience. The Chorizo & Egg Sandwich, featuring mashed avocado and aged cheddar on a butter-toasted English muffin, offers a rich, satisfying start to your day.
The atmosphere at Ballast Point Brewing is as impressive as the food. Visitors rave about the expansive seating options—including cozy couches with coffee tables and outdoor areas equipped with glass barriers that shield you from ocean breezes without obstructing the panoramic views of the Pacific and the bustling Long Beach harbor. This setting is both lively and relaxed, ideal for kicking back with friends or enjoying a casual date night. Ordering is seamless and modern via QR codes, ensuring prompt service despite the lack of traditional table waitstaff.
Customer experiences consistently praise the combination of stunning views, a relaxed vibe, and outstanding beers. “Every beer we tried was on point,” shares Leah Burns, underscoring the brewery’s reputation for quality brews like the iconic Sculpin IPA, known for its crisp, hoppy finish. Though some have noted minor food critiques, such as those found by Joey Metalski, the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, especially for those who appreciate innovative beer cocktails and a friendly, knowledgeable staff who enhance the experience further.
Whether you’re a local or a visitor, Ballast Point Brewing in Long Beach stands out as a must-visit venue for those who crave expertly crafted beers paired with a compelling menu, all within an atmosphere that captures the essence of the California coast. It’s a place you’ll want to return to, again and again, to enjoy the tastes, the views, and the vibrant community spirit.

The view and atmosphere of this Long Beach brewery is unbelievable. So much seating with amazing views. Couches with coffee tables are also an option. There are glass barriers to break the wind and they help immensely. Monday night burger and beer is a great deal at $18. Every beer we tried was on point, Sculpins especially. You order from a QR code on your table and food comes pretty fast. Will definitely come again.
Panoramic view of the pacific ocean and surrounding bay. Awesome atmosphere. Brewery has wine based cocktails. Got the fish tacos and lobster roll and both needed a little more flavor, no heat or spice. Bland to my taste buds. Michelada was great. Spicy margarita had no spice either. Great place to enjoy the view unfortunately not the best food. Have to order thru a qr code, no table service. Kinda a bother when ordering multiple beers as u have to qr order every time.
Have been now a few times and the location of this brewery simply cannot be beat. Amazing views of the ocean and boats coming and going. Easy to order drink and food from the phone and they will bring to the table. Hot dog was massive and the chicken salad fresh. Calamari was a bit over breaded for my taste, but tasted fine nonetheless. Will keep coming back, over and over again.
We love this place and have been here several times. You must enjoy the pretzel and wings plus many options for dinner. Tonight we were lucky to have serving us Auyoung and Emily who were so personable and professional. It’s a must if you are looking for casual vibe and always cold (outstanding) beer!!!
Ballast Point Brewing is a must-visit for craft beer lovers! Their taproom has a fantastic vibe—lively yet relaxed, with a great selection of beers on tap. I loved the Sculpin IPA; it’s crisp, hoppy, and perfectly balanced. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable, happy to guide me through their menu. The food pairings, especially the fish tacos, were spot-on. Spacious seating and a cool outdoor area make it great for groups. Can’t wait to come back for more brews! 5 stars
Visiting from out of town and stopped in for a beer then just had to have two. On tap from the place is better in the can back home. I didn’t get food this time but the food is killer too. The beer speaks for itself. I could have sat there for hours and drank but my liver wouldn’t be stoked and I would for sure get pulled over.
